Lowell Labor Day Festival (Thursday - Sunday, Lowell)
The annual Lowell Labor Day Festival staple continues starting on Thursday as the American Legion Ladies Auxilary kicks off the weekend with the Garage sale on Thursday & Friday. Then on Friday afternoon the festival will open up with the Annual Fish Fry from 4:30pm to 7:30pm... featuring Lowell's own Darren Zancan and the Darren Zancan Band! Saturday, Sunday and Labor day will bring some much needed Festival attractions

Hesston Steam & Power Show (Friday - Sunday)
Family fun and learning all around the museum campus. Steam train rids and lots of big machines working hard to entertain and enlighten your family. Tradiational festival treats and a market where that good deal on a cool item waits for you.

How to Eat Like a Child Returns to Chicago Street
The musical, which was originally performed by CST in 2009, played to SOLD-OUT houses and the theatre troop decided to bring it back to celebrate their 20th anniversary at their Chicago Street home. The whimsical journey through childhood written by Delia Ephron, John Forster, and Judith Kahn gives audiences twenty-three lessons in the joys and anxieties of how to be a kid through hilarious scenes and witty songs.

Lubeznik Center for the Arts First Friday with Peter Aglinskas
Back by popular demand! Recipient of the Chicago Cultural Department's "Artists International" Award, Peter Aglinskas infuses his music with elements from the contemporary worlds of jazz, soul and rock, with technique firmly rooted in the classical music tradition. The Portage Township Live Entertainment Association is hosting an End of Summer Music Festival. The music line-up includes: @ 3:00pm - Joe "Neil" Zirconia and Dave "Elvis" Thomas, @ 4:30pm - Soundz of Santana, @ 6:30pm - Dixie Crush Modern Country. Food trucks will be available as well as beer and wine.

Whiting Park Festival Orchestra Patriotic Grand Finale
Final concert of the Whiting Park Festival Orchestra's 2017 season features Arthur Harris's Americana, Alfred Reed's gorgeous arrangement of America the Beautfiul, and pops favorites such as a Tribute to Elivs Presley and Gershwin's Girl Crazy. John Philip Sousa's Stars and Stripes Forever, Gliding Girl Tango, and Circus Galop and an Armed Forces Salute round out the program, which ends with Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture and fireworks over Lake Michigan. Violinist Maria Storm plays Saint-Saens' Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso.
