Friday, May 4, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM (CDT) Lubeznik Center for the Arts (LCA) will again host musician Peter Aglinskas. A recipient of the Chicago Cultural Department's "Artists International" Award, Peter infuses his music with elements from the contemporary worlds of jazz, soul and rock, with technique firmly rooted in the classical music tradition. Enjoy Peter's sultry solo guitar stylings while you peruse the galleries. Admission is free and a cash bar and lite bites will be provided.
On Monday, April 23rd the installation of the dramatic Embracing Peace sculpture by renowned American artist Seward Johnson will begin at approximately 8am at the Legacy Fields Sportsplex located at 1313 E North St. near the main entrance.
Lubeznik Center for the Arts invites artists to apply for its annual art festival featuring fine art and fine craft exhibitors, plus contemporary art galleries, interactive family art activities and food. A non-refundable application fee of $35 is required. Application deadline is March 15, 2018.

Lubeznik Center for the Arts' (LCA) spring class & workshop offerings for children, teens and adults are currently open for registration. Weekly classes are available for those looking to develop new skills and workshops for those looking for a little "me time" and focus their creativity for a day or two. Offerings run from March 12 through April 14. Classes fill quickly so all are encouraged to register early.
Local artist, Jay Zerbe, will be bringing his latest show,"eCollage", to Lubeznik Center for the Arts (LCA). Zerbe's digital collages are constructed in photoshop using elements from his paintings and drawings ordered in many layers. He then prints the image with archival ink on 8.5x11" archival paper.
Lubeznik Center For the Arts, an arts hub integrating contemporary art exhibitions with educational programming for kids and adults in Michigan City and the Michiana region, recently celebrated the retirement of several longstanding board members.
Featured Creatures showcases artworks completed by student artists of Lubeznik Center for the Arts' (LCA) Health Promotion through the Arts Program, in partnership with The Social and Learning Institute (SLI) and Paladin, Inc, provides weekly classes for adults living with developmental and cognitive disabilities. This program, now entering its tenth year, provides a creative space for these artists to explore and develop motor and vocabulary skills, as well as develop social support and peer relationships. Thanks to Duneland Health Council for generously sponsoring this program.
