It was another banner year for the McColly Real Estate team, and they celebrated in style on Thursday with their Annual Christmas Party at Innsbrook Country Club.

John Freyek, Commercial Relationship Manager with First Merchants Bank, was awarded with the Community Impact Award from Mental Health America. This award was presented at the Mental Health America Wing and Roll event and was in honor of John’s five years of service as Chairman of the Board.
Nurses are honored with this award three times a year. Patients and visitors may nominate a deserving nurse by filling out a nomination form and dropping it in the special counter top displays at the front desks and inpatient units. Each Daisy Award Honoree is recognized at a public ceremony in her or his unit and receives a certificate of recognition, a DAISY award pin, and a hand-carved stone sculpture entitled Heart’s Touch. “It’s very humbling and exciting to be part of the positive transformation in Northwest Indiana,” Sherri Ziller said. Since 2013, Ziller has been providing leadership to support economic development and redevelopment as Chief Operating Officer at the Northwest Indiana Regional Development Authority.
Before starting a career in public service, the Whiting native attended Purdue University Calumet for a bachelor's degree in Political Science and a masters degree in Education. After completing her degree, Ziller was a professor at Kaplan University (now Purdue University Global).
“I absolutely loved teaching, but I wanted to find a way to help the community,” said Ziller. “As much as I loved teaching, I wanted to try something new and challenging that would utilize my political science degree.”

Jim Concato, Director of Oncology Services at Methodist Hospitals, was one of six healthcare professionals awarded 2018 Cancer Control Champion by the Indiana Cancer Consortium (ICC). He was awarded this honor for exhibiting leadership in implementing the ICC Cancer Control Plan through participation in action teams, and local cancer coalitions.

Nicole Alcorn, mother of two and Senior Vice President and Chief Experience Officer has been with the company for almost two years. Featuring quality food and drinks from some of the Region’s top breweries and wineries, business and community leaders toasted to a successful year and the exciting things to come in 2019.
On Wednesday, Strack and Van Til hosted their annual Vendor Christmas Party for all of their vendors who regularly stock the popular grocery stores we shop at. The Vendor Christmas Party was held at St. James Hall in Highland. Representatives from each vendor company were able to enjoy a long buffet full of different meats and side dishes, including a festive table full of a variety of desserts.
Robert J. Franko, currently CEO of HealthFirst Bluegrass Community Health Center in Lexington, Kentucky, will become President and CEO of VNA of Northwest Indiana effective January 1, 2019. Franko is a native of Northwest Indiana. He was Vice President for Development and Marketing for Porter-Starke Services where he worked from 1996 to 2010. He was Marketing Vice President and National Training Coordinator for Cherokee Health Systems in Knoxville, TN, for six years before joining his present employer. Franko earned his BS and MBA Degrees from Purdue University.
